Legal documents and acknowledgements
What is this?
RideAuction’s terms and policies apply once they are published (Terms & policies shows which are and since when). Before every new dealer bidding authorization, you must have accepted the current Auction Terms, including mandatory company-name/logo visibility. Other buying or selling documents apply when required.
How does it work?
- Draft vs published: only a published document applies. A draft (still being finished, for example with counsel) is never shown as binding and can never be acknowledged; Terms & policies lists the published versions and the date each took effect.
- Unit questions (Q&A) are a separate case: they stay off until RideAuction’s legal counsel approves their terms. Acknowledging documents does not turn them on.
- Why: an acknowledgement records that you, for your dealership, read the exact version of each document that governs what you are about to do. It belongs to your own account; a colleague’s acknowledgement does not cover you.
- Which documents: the current Terms of Bidding and Sale are always required for new dealer bids, including Quick Bid, Max Bid, Jump and advance bids. Additional buying documents may apply to Buy Now and offers, and sellers have a separate check for accepting and countering offers. Required documents shows the exact documents currently required for your action; this guide does not add extra confirmations.
- When: current Auction Terms acceptance is mandatory for new manual, Quick, Max, Jump and advance bids, with no company-disclosure opt-out. After acceptance, unchanged Terms stay remembered. Your company name and logo/business image/initials appear to eligible verified dealers; staff, contacts and private maximums stay confidential. Earlier anonymous bids and commitments retain their original treatment. Other document requirements are shown when applicable.
- When a document changes: RideAuction publishes a new version and you acknowledge only that document again. Documents that did not change stay acknowledged, and your earlier acknowledgements are kept as they were.
- A document RideAuction is still finishing (for example the Payment & Settlement Policy while online payment is not launched) is never something you can tick. If one is needed before you can continue, Required documents says so; there is nothing for you to do until it is published.
- Applying to RideAuction: you accept the published Terms of Bidding and Sale, Bidding Rules and Privacy Policy when you submit your application. If one of them is still being finished you can still submit; approval waits until it is published, and we ask you to accept it then.
- Existing accepted bids and automatic proxy responses still follow the bidding rules in force when they were placed.
What do I need to do?
- Read any document under Terms & policies; each shows its version and the date it took effect.
- If an action is refused for acknowledgement, open Required documents, read each listed document, tick “I have read and acknowledge …” for each one, then choose Confirm acknowledgement.
- Return to the lot or the offer and try again.
What happens next?
Once every current required document is acknowledged, the normal eligibility, buying-limit and timing checks still apply.
