Reserve vs No Reserve and starting bid
What is this?
Step 6 of Submit Units. Choose whether the unit sells only above a private reserve, and where bidding starts.
How does it work?
- Reserve: the unit sells only if bidding reaches your reserve price. The reserve is private — bidders never see it.
- No Reserve: the highest bid at the close wins, whatever the amount.
- Starting bid: where bidding begins (at least $100 CAD). Bidders see it. With a reserve it cannot be above the reserve. RideAuction may adjust it when approving.
- Audience and preferred auction are requests; RideAuction makes the final choice. A Trusted Dealer instead chooses the auction, and the unit is placed in it when submitted; the starting bid and reserve are used exactly as you enter them.
What do I need to do?
- Choose Reserve or No Reserve.
- Enter the reserve (Reserve only) and the starting bid.
- Choose “Save and continue”.

Step 7: Review & submit.
