When RideAuction picks up a unit you sold

What is this?

If the buyer chooses RideAuction delivery, the seller sets the carrier offer and RideAuction books a Ride YouAsk Live Tracker driver. You do not dispatch or assign anyone.

How does it work?

  • Driver pickup and buyer confirmation are distinct evidence. Live Tracker currently requires a supported 17-character VIN. HIN and serial-number units use buyer-arranged pickup or transport until broader compatibility is approved. Never substitute a made-up VIN.
  • Your sale shows “RideAuction is arranging transport”, the pickup status, the delivery provider and whether a driver is assigned — not the driver’s name: the release number on the driver’s screen is your check. You never see the buyer’s delivery address.
  • After the buyer accepts RideAuction delivery, open Sales → the sold unit → Pickup & transport. Enter the gross CAD amount you offer the carrier and save it. You can update it until a carrier is assigned or pickup begins. The buyer pays the transport amount; Ride invoices your dealership its separate delivery technology fee. The carrier receives the full accepted offer without a separate Ride platform fee.
  • After the buyer accepts, RideAuction finds the carrier automatically (qualified carriers within 200 km, then 300 km); your sale shows “Finding a carrier” until one accepts. You are told when the carrier is booked, about any delay or pickup problem, and when the unit is delivered. You never dispatch anyone yourself.
  • The buying dealership must accept your transport price before any carrier is offered the delivery. Pickup & transport shows the quote status: waiting for the buyer, accepted, a question from the buyer, declined, or revised. Changing the price creates a new quote version and the buyer must approve it again; you cannot approve it for them, and neither can RideAuction. The buyer’s questions arrive as notifications with a link to the sale.
  • The pickup needs two separate things: your pickup permission and an active RideAuction pickup pass (the auction release). Your permission is granted automatically when RideAuction’s release is issued for RideAuction Logistics; under Pickup & transport you can pause it with a reason (for example the unit is not ready) and allow it again. A booked carrier alone never gives a right to collect the unit. The driver’s screen shows the pickup pass number — you can check it under Pickup and handover.
  • The driver photographs and inspects the unit at your location; their pickup confirmation records the release (you do not record it yourself). Follow the shipment in Live Tracker. The provider records delivery proof and the buyer separately confirms receipt on the secure tracking page.
  • The buyer is invoiced for transport only after the driver completes delivery; Ride invoices your dealership its separate delivery technology fee. The carrier is not charged a separate Ride fee. Live Tracker records invoices but does not collect buyer money or send provider payouts; the expected carrier amount is not proof of cash settlement. The seller’s auction proceeds settlement remains on the sale transaction.
  • If the release is expired, cancelled, payment was reversed or the sale is on hold, the driver cannot confirm pickup. Do not hand the unit over — contact RideAuction. If delivery proof, receiver signing or an invoice is missing, open the existing shipment/sale and ask support to investigate; do not create a duplicate shipment.

What do I need to do?

  • Have the unit ready at the address on your listing.
  • Hand it over only to the assigned driver with a valid pickup pass.

What happens next?

Your sale shows Picked up, then Delivered.
