Reserve or No Reserve (sellers)
What is this?
Choose whether the unit sells to the highest bid (No Reserve) or only at or above a private reserve.
How does it work?
- Preferences show the configured Reserve Fee beneath Reserve and beside Save and continue. No Reserve shows a zero reserve-option fee. Editing a percentage-based reserve recalculates a clearly labeled estimate; save preferences and review the authoritative server quote before the final acknowledgment. An inactive policy is explicitly not currently charged and does not promise an invoice. A saved or scheduled approval cannot override the emergency assessment hold; issuer and matching legal terms must still pass before new fee commitments or assessment. Tax readiness does not block assessment of the acknowledged fee principal; Reserve Fee invoices remain nonpayable drafts until the existing tax requirements pass. Opening Help keeps unsaved preferences in place.
- The reserve amount is never shown to buyers.
- The starting bid cannot be above the reserve.
- The initial approved Reserve Fee was CAD $49 fixed for Regular Public and 60-Minute Reserve auctions. Authorized Admins can approve future fixed or percentage pricing. The live policy and your authoritative quote determine the fee; a saved future draft does not replace the active rate. A percentage fee is calculated from your private approved reserve, not the winning bid. Check the live policy and assessment state in the submission flow; do not assume a fee or new rate applies until it is active. The disclosed fee is charged after your eligible Reserve auction concludes, even if your reserve is not met. The final Review step shows the exact fee and requires your acknowledgment before submission. The terms are frozen with your new commitment; later Admin price changes cannot reprice it. Existing commitments are grandfathered.
- A No Reserve auction has no reserve-option fee. An auction cancelled before opening, rejected or never launched does not incur the fee. An interruption or dispute is held for review. RideAuction Admin may propose a different reserve with a reason. The proposal does not change your reserve unless you accept it. If an active fee policy applies, the system recalculates and shows the fee before you accept. Your original reserve and decision remain in the audit history.
What do I need to do?
- Set the sale format and, for Reserve, the reserve amount.
What happens next?
The Reserve Fee is earned only when an active fee policy was shown and acknowledged for a new commitment, then the eligible Reserve auction actually runs and concludes, whether sold or reserve not met. A cancelled-before-opening, rejected or never-launched auction is not charged; an interruption or dispute is held for review. Invoices remain nonpayable drafts until the issuer and charged-party tax treatment are verified and approved. No automatic payment is collected.
