Reserve vs No Reserve
What is this?
A reserve is the minimum amount required for the unit to sell. The reserve amount remains private.
How does it work?
- No Reserve: the highest bid at the close wins.
- Reserve: the unit sells only if the highest bid meets the reserve.
- Lots show RESERVE MET or RESERVE NOT MET — never the amount.
- The Reserve Fee is a seller-side charge for eligible Reserve auctions; it is not added to your buyer invoice. Any buyer fees and taxes are shown separately before you confirm a bid or purchase.
What do I need to do?
- On a Reserve lot, watch the reserve status; a Max Bid at or above the reserve moves the bid to it.
What happens next?
If the reserve is not met at the close, the lot ends as Reserve not met.
