Fees

Buyer and seller fees and when they apply.

How this works
Only a published document applies; a draft is still being finished and is never binding. When RideAuction asks you to acknowledge a document before you bid or sell, you do it under Required documents. Unit questions (Q&A) stay off until RideAuction’s legal counsel approves their terms.

RIDEAUCTION CANADA — FEES For Reserve Fee pricing only, once reviewed and published this amendment expressly governs over older fixed-rate or inactive-state descriptions in the Terms of Bidding and Sale and the Payment & Settlement Policy, as permitted by clause A2 of the Terms of Bidding and Sale. It does not change any unrelated auction, payment, tax or dispute provision. Publication alone does not activate the replacement rate; separate prospective policy approval and seller acknowledgement remain required. This document sets out the fees RideAuction charges on RideAuction Canada. It forms part of the RideAuction Canada Terms of Bidding and Sale. All amounts are in Canadian dollars (CAD). RideAuction charges no fee that is not listed here. ──────────────────────────────────────── 1. HOW FEES ARE FIXED ──────────────────────────────────────── 1.1 Each fee is a versioned RideAuction rule. A fee is shown before the commitment that fixes it. Auction fees frozen into a scheduled auction remain fixed for that auction. The Reserve Fee is frozen when the seller makes a new Reserve commitment after seeing and explicitly acknowledging the applicable Reserve Fee terms. 1.2 A later fee change applies prospectively only. It never changes a frozen fee commitment, an auction already scheduled under frozen rules, or a sale that has formed. Every Reserve auction committed before a new Reserve Fee schedule takes effect is grandfathered. 1.3 A sale forms when a lot sells at auction, when a Buy Now purchase is accepted, or when a post-auction offer or counter-offer is accepted. The same fees apply in all three cases. ──────────────────────────────────────── 2. BUYER FEE ──────────────────────────────────────── 2.1 The buying dealership pays a buyer fee on each purchase, in addition to the purchase price. 2.2 The Admin Rules & Fees page read on 2026-10-18 showed the current Standard Rules buyer fee at 10.5% of the purchase price, minimum CAD $250 and maximum CAD $8,500 per purchase. The schedule frozen for the particular Auction governs; this draft does not change its amount. 2.3 The buyer fee is fixed when the sale forms and appears on the buyer's invoice. ──────────────────────────────────────── 3. PROCESSING FEE ──────────────────────────────────────── 3.1 The Admin Rules & Fees page read on 2026-10-18 showed no processing fee in the current Standard Rules. A title or registration document requirement does not itself create a fee. A future fee requires an authorized prospective rules change and disclosure before the applicable Auction commitment. 3.2 No processing fee is charged while the active Standard Rules show no processing fee. If a future authorized rules version adds a charge, its amount, trigger, applicable tax treatment and pre-commitment display must be verified and published before use. ──────────────────────────────────────── 4. SELLER FEE ──────────────────────────────────────── 4.1 The selling dealership pays a seller fee only when its unit sells. The Admin Rules & Fees page read on 2026-10-18 showed the current Standard Rules seller fee at 2.5% of the sale price, capped at CAD $100. The schedule frozen for the transaction governs; this draft does not change it. 4.2 The seller fee is fixed under the applicable auction rules. The seller invoice and settlement record show the actual fee and any authorized adjustment. ──────────────────────────────────────── 5. RESERVE FEE ──────────────────────────────────────── 5.1 The current Reserve Fee policy is fixed CAD $49 for eligible Regular Public and 60-Minute Reserve auctions. A replacement policy of 6.50% of the private approved reserve may apply only after authorized Admin approval and its separately recorded future effective time. It is not a percentage of the winning bid or sale proceeds. At a CAD $10,000 approved reserve the replacement fee is CAD $650.00, rounded using the existing exact CAD calculation. Saving a pricing draft or publishing these terms does not activate the replacement policy. Until that separate activation takes effect, the current CAD $49 policy remains applicable to new eligible commitments. Every seller must see and explicitly acknowledge the applicable exact fee before committing. Earlier commitments retain their frozen method, rate, amount and approved reserve; a later percentage policy never reprices them. 5.2 The Reserve Fee is earned only after an eligible Reserve auction actually opens, runs and validly concludes, whether the unit sells or the reserve is not met. No Reserve has a zero reserve-option fee. Rejected, never-launched and cancelled-before-opening auctions incur no Reserve Fee. A schedule or attempted launch alone is insufficient. These rules are identical for Regular Public and 60-Minute Reserve auctions. 5.3 Assessment records the acknowledged fee principal independently of invoice tax readiness. A sold Reserve auction uses a separate seller fee line in the existing seller invoice workflow. An unsold Reserve auction may have a fee-only draft; it is not a sale and creates no buyer or winning bid. All Reserve Fee invoice drafts remain nonpayable until verified issuer, approved tax treatment and existing issuance requirements permit an authorized invoice. No automatic payment is collected. These terms do not supply a tax classification, tax rate, registration, payment instruction or professional approval. 5.4 An interruption, post-opening cancellation, dispute or uncertain final outcome is held for authorized exception review. If an integrity review voids the result or finds no valid completed auction, use the existing audited reversal or credit process. A valid completed outcome subject to a later unit dispute remains under review; an authorized reasoned decision controls any credit. No fee record is deleted or silently repriced. 5.5 Applicable tax, if any, is determined only by verified, accountant-approved versioned rules for the supply and place of supply and is shown on a legally issuable invoice. No tax exemption, registration or tax-included price is implied. Invoice readiness does not itself enable or disable assessment. ──────────────────────────────────────── 6. LISTING AND RELISTING ──────────────────────────────────────── 6.1 The Admin Rules & Fees page read on 2026-10-18 showed listing and relisting are free under the current Standard Rules. The applicable Auction rules govern. ──────────────────────────────────────── 7. TAXES ──────────────────────────────────────── 7.1 Tax is not determined by this draft. Any tax may be shown or charged only under the issuer's verified, accountant-approved tax configuration and applicable rules for that supply and place of supply. The Dealer profile province alone does not establish the tax treatment. Until those rules and issuer details are verified, payable Reserve Fee invoice issuance remains held; this draft does not imply a tax rate, registration, exemption, or tax-included price. ──────────────────────────────────────── 8. CANCELLED SALES ──────────────────────────────────────── 8.1 If RideAuction cancels a sale, the fees recorded for that sale are reversed on RideAuction's records, by credit note where an invoice was issued. Fee and tax records are never deleted. END OF DRAFT. ──────────────────────────────────────── PROPOSED DECISIONS AND PUBLICATION HOLDS ──────────────────────────────────────── PROPOSED / DEMO DECISIONS — NOT APPROVED OR IN EFFECT Reserve Fee pricing transition: The current Reserve Fee policy is fixed CAD $49 for eligible Regular Public and 60-Minute Reserve auctions. The Reserve Fee is earned only after an eligible Reserve auction actually opens, runs and validly concludes, whether the unit sells or the reserve is not met. No Reserve has a zero reserve-option fee. Rejected, never-launched and cancelled-before-opening auctions incur no Reserve Fee. A schedule or attempted launch alone is insufficient. These rules are identical for Regular Public and 60-Minute Reserve auctions. Proposed exception rule: if an opened auction is interrupted, cancelled after opening, disputed or has an uncertain final state, put assessment on hold pending authorized review; do not infer a charge from schedule/launch attempt alone. If review concludes there was no valid completed auction or the result is voided for an integrity/platform error, reverse any unissued obligation using the existing audited ledger control. If a valid auction concluded and a later party dispute concerns the Unit, keep the fee under review and allow a credit only by an authorized, reasoned decision; never silently reprice or collect automatically. One obligation maximum per frozen commitment through idempotent completion processing. Sold reserve auction fee is a separate seller line on the existing seller invoice; unsold Reserve may create a nonpayable fee-only draft, never a fabricated buyer/sale/winning bid. No payable invoice is issued until the verified issuer, accountant-approved tax rule and invoice requirements permit it. All amounts are CAD. This is not a tax opinion and applies no tax by default. For other existing charges, preserve the actual published/configured snapshot: buyer fee and processing fee are shown before commitment and frozen under auction rules; seller fee applies only on a completed sale if present in that snapshot. Proposed price-transparency rule: disclose each mandatory fixed fee before the relevant consumer/dealer commitment; never add an undisclosed mandatory fee after the bid/purchase.
