Place Bid (Bid Now)

What is this?

Review and confirm the next minimum bid, or the starting bid when no bids exist.

How does it work?

  • Compact unit cards group the Winning or Outbid badge with the current price and bid count. The closing time sits directly below the price. My Unit opens your own unit without allowing you to bid on it. The bid amount is green while your dealership leads, red when you are outbid, and blue otherwise; these colors describe your confirmed position, not whether a market price rose or fell. A genuine price update plays one brief number lift and highlight sweep; recovered history and reconnect snapshots do not replay it. Reduced motion keeps a static tint. Buttons stay centered, and decorative card and price-box outlines are removed. Live card actions use blue for an eligible Place Bid and red Re-bid after RideAuction confirms you have been outbid. Green Winning means the server confirms your dealership currently leads. A submitted request alone never means Winning. If Raise Max Bid is available while you lead, its existing action stays available with green status. Request-in-progress confirmation controls are neutral gray; wait for the result. Colors include text and icons, and do not change amounts, eligibility or confirmation safeguards.
  • The shared compact panel shows current bid, next minimum, your position and server-anchored close time. Quick Bid submits its displayed proposed amount under the existing auction rules. Its initial amount is the next minimum. The editable amount and rapid increments also update the Quick Bid label. Max Auto-Bid and public Jump remain separate actions; private bid details are expandable. Fees & Terms starts collapsed and remains available.
  • RideAuction checks the bid when it arrives; if someone bid first, you are told and nothing is placed.
  • Increments under the current Standard Rules: $100 to $10,999 → $100; $11,000 to $15,999 → $250; $16,000 to $25,000 → $500; $25,001 and above → $1,000. Each auction shows the increments frozen for it.

What do I need to do?

  • Review the proposed amount, then select Quick Bid. It starts at the current minimum; rapid increments and editing update its label without submitting. First-time or materially changed required agreements still need acceptance; afterward each selection submits immediately. Review Fees & Terms whenever needed.
  • The bidding panel shows one current standing: You are the Highest Bidder or You have been outbid. A brief acceptance message confirms your request, not a guarantee that you still lead. Expand Bid receipt for the accepted action, amount and time. Reconnecting and live proxy updates do not replay acceptance messages. While submitting, wait for confirmation. If the response is uncertain, reload and check authoritative history before trying again.
  • Combined consent remembers the Max, public Jump and large-amount conditions for your staff account, dealership, auction and unchanged fee/rule version. Missing or changed consent still requires review; a server refusal is never overridden.

What happens next?

You see WINNING if your bid leads, or OUTBID if another bidder’s private maximum answered automatically.
