Business details and the Bill of Sale

What is this?

Your dealership’s tax numbers, phone and email print on every Bill of Sale, so they must be complete before your dealership can bid, buy, make offers or submit units.

How does it work?

  • Every dealership needs a GST/HST number: 9 digits, then RT and 4 digits. Numbers are checked for format, including the business number’s check digit. RideAuction does not confirm them with the tax authority.
  • British Columbia and Saskatchewan dealerships also need a PST number, Manitoba dealerships an RST number, and Quebec dealerships a QST number.
  • Your phone and email come from your dealership’s account. Other dealerships see these details only on the Bill of Sale, after a sale.
  • A Bill of Sale already issued keeps what it printed. If a detail was missing at the time, it reads NOT RECORDED, and RideAuction can reissue it after you add the detail.

What do I need to do?

  • Open Business details, enter your numbers exactly as they appear on your registration, and save.
  • If a number is refused, the message says which one and what it should look like.
  • To change your phone or email, contact RideAuction.

What happens next?

Once your details are complete, you can bid, buy, make offers and submit units straight away.
