How Buy Now works
What is this?
Some units are offered at a fixed Buy Now price instead of bidding. The first eligible dealer who confirms Buy Now buys the unit — the purchase is binding.
How does it work?
- A Buy Now unit shows “Buy Now — CA$…” on its lot page. There is no bidding, reserve or starting bid on it.
- Buy Now is open while the auction is open for bidding, until that lot’s close time.
- Choosing Buy Now shows a review: the unit, the Buy Now price, the auction’s buyer fee, the processing fee (CAD $185 when the unit needs title or registration documents) and the total before tax. Taxes are calculated on the invoice for your dealership’s province.
- You tick the binding statement and confirm. RideAuction checks again that the unit is still available at that exact price before it is sold to you.
- If two dealers confirm at the same moment, exactly one buys it; the other is told it is already sold and nothing is charged to them.
What do I need to do?
- Open the unit, choose Buy Now, review the total and confirm the binding purchase.
- You need RideAuction buying approval for your dealership and bidding authority for yourself.
What happens next?
The sale is confirmed at once and opens on your purchase page: invoice and payment, documents, your delivery choice, release and pickup — the same steps as an auction win.
