Closing-round notifications
What is this?
When your dealership qualifies for a 60-minute auction’s Closing round, RideAuction tells you automatically in the bell and by email, with one link to that auction’s live bidding page.
How does it work?
- Who qualifies: under the current rules, when Active bidding ends with the reserve met (or no reserve), the top two dealerships by their best accepted bid move to a 15-minute Closing round. A dealership whose buying or bidding access is not approved at that moment is passed over. The decision is made by RideAuction’s server when Active bidding ends, never in your browser.
- What you receive: one bell notification titled “You qualified for the Closing round” for each person at your dealership who holds RideAuction bidding authority, and one email to each of them (unless that person turned Bidding emails off in notification settings). People with view-only access, or whose Ride account is disabled, are not notified. Nobody sets anything up and RideAuction staff take no manual action; there is no text message.
- What is in it: the unit, the lot number, the auction name, the time the round was scheduled to end when you qualified, and the link. It never names the other qualified dealership, anyone’s maximum bid, a bid amount or a staff member.
- The link opens that auction’s live bidding page. If you are not signed in, sign in and you return to the same page. If the round has already ended when you open it, the page shows your own result instead — you won (with your purchase), another bid won, or the unit did not sell — and, for a few seconds after the time runs out, that the result is being recorded.
- Extensions: a bid in the last 5 minutes resets the countdown to 5 minutes. You do not get a new notice for each extension: the bidding page always shows the live time and whether you are leading. A notice is sent once per qualification; it is never repeated.
- If the round ends before an email could be sent (for example email was paused), that email is not sent at all, so you are never told about a round that is already over. Provider accepted is not proof of inbox delivery: always check the bell, the “You qualified for the Closing round” banner and the 60-minute auctions page (Closing round tab) as well.
What do I need to do?
- Open the bell or the email link and bid on the live bidding page before the countdown ends.
- Make sure everyone who bids for your dealership has RideAuction bidding authority and an active Ride account; ask your dealership administrator if someone is missing.
- Keep Bidding emails on in Notifications → settings if you want the email as well as the bell.
What happens next?
When the round ends the result is recorded automatically. A win opens your purchase (invoice, payment and pickup steps); otherwise the result shows under the unit. RideAuction monitors every Closing-round notice and follows up genuine delivery failures.
