Notifications

What is this?

RideAuction tells you about your bids, outbids, extensions, results and the steps after a sale in the Notifications page (the bell).

How does it work?

  • Missing email: first check the in-app bell and your notification preferences, then Spam/Junk and mailbox rules. Optional alerts can be skipped because preferences are Off or a rate limit applies; repeated bidding does not override those controls. Provider accepted is not proof of inbox delivery. Company verification and owner activation are separate links; expired links require the existing resend workflow, not a new dealership application. Ask Admin to inspect the notification outcome without sharing a password, activation link or verification token.
  • Notifications appear in RideAuction itself. After an auction you receive one notice for your invoices and one for your Bills of Sale (not one per unit); the invoice notice does not wait for the Bills of Sale, and neither in-app notice names the other dealership. The invoice email and the Bill of Sale email include the issued document as a PDF attachment and its key details as text (see Your purchase invoice and What your Bill of Sale shows), plus a secure link. An email accepted for sending is not proof it reached your inbox; the in-app notice and your Invoices and Bills of Sale lists are always current.
  • For 60-minute auctions, choose Off, Daily digest or Instant for saved-search matches, and separately choose watched-auction starting-soon and live alerts. New choices default Off and remain held until execution and promotion are authorized. The old Watch List display toggle does not override these explicit choices; existing bid and result preferences stay separate. Promotional email is limited across your dealership to one per hour and three per rolling 24 hours, with suitable matches combined into one digest. Each included auction has its own link. Rescheduled, paused, cancelled or no-longer-eligible messages are suppressed before dispatch.
  • Your RideAuction access: when RideAuction approves your dealership, or restores its access after a suspension, the dealership owner and the staff who manage your RideAuction activity receive one notice in the bell and one email that say what your dealership can now do (buy, bid and/or sell) and to sign in at rideauction.ca. Your open access request in the Dealer Portal (Support) is resolved at the same time with that message, without a second email. A suspension or a closed account does not send this notice.
  • After a sale you are told about the steps that concern you: the ownership document (needed, approved or a correction needed), ready for release, the pickup party named, pickup authorized or cancelled, the unit released, and messages from RideAuction on a dispute.
  • Winning confirmation says Invoice being prepared. A payment request follows a valid issued purchase invoice and opens that specific invoice. If the invoice, amount or payment state changes before dispatch, an obsolete payment request is skipped; open your purchase for current facts.
  • Email delivery depends on the configured provider, channel permissions and delivery evidence. A saved connection is not proof of inbox receipt. SMS remains subject to its separate disabled send gate.

What do I need to do?

  • Open the bell in the header to see and clear notifications.

What happens next?

Each notification opens exactly what it is about: the lot, your purchase or sale, or the dispute case.
