60-minute auctions
What is this?
Browse published 60-minute auctions and use only the actions authorized for your dealership.
How does it work?
- An open auction page moves on by itself: when a stage ends it updates a few seconds later (Active bidding → Closing round → Finalizing results → the result), with no need to reload. Its address keeps working after the auction ends, and links from My bids or the Watch List open it too.
- Where is the unit now? Every 60-minute unit is in one stage: Upcoming (scheduled) → Active bidding (60 minutes; a bid in the last 30 seconds adds time) → Closing round (15 minutes, only the top two dealerships from Active bidding; a bid in the last 5 minutes adds 5 minutes) → Sold or Not sold. If the reserve is not met and nobody qualifies, the seller may send private Pending offers for 24 hours. The 60-minute auctions page opens on the most urgent stage that has units — Closing round, then Active bidding, then your own Pending offers, then Upcoming — shows every stage count, and a banner when units are in their Closing round. The homepage 60-minute section keeps units in their Closing round too. If your dealership qualified for a Closing round, a banner on every page says so with one button to the lot (bid by the time shown); it says only whether you are leading — never the other dealership or anyone’s maximum. A dealership that did not qualify can follow the price but cannot bid, and the panel says so in plain words. After the result: Units won (if your dealership won).
- Closing completes automatically after the server deadline and any bid extensions. A valid sold result creates one sale record and Bill of Sale preparation request; invoice issuance, payment verification and legal approval still follow separately. An interrupted operation retries safely. If bidder eligibility or qualification needs review, the recorded bids stay intact and a result waits for that review. No failed operation is presented as no bids, and another buyer is not silently substituted. Follow the recorded result in Purchases or My offers; contact RideAuction support if an exception persists.
- Immediately after Upcoming Auctions, the homepage shows up to six eligible 60-minute auctions: Live first, then Scheduled. Only approved, published, public, executable auctions appear. The homepage section is hidden when no eligible approved public units are available, including while execution is held. The 60-minute board and Help remain accessible through their existing navigation. Signed-out visitors and dealers without approved buying or bidding access see $$$ instead of starting or current bid amounts on the homepage, board and auction detail. Registration alone does not reveal prices; current dealership approval and staff authority are required.
- 60 minutes is the initial Active period. A qualifying public bid change in the final 30 seconds resets remaining Active time to 60 seconds; Closing uses its existing five-minute extension window. Pending negotiations are private, and Closing is a separate stage with its existing qualification rules. A countdown is anchored to server time; at a stage deadline the page checks the latest status rather than promising that bidding is still open.
- In Notifications, 60-minute matching alerts default to Off. Choose Daily digest or Instant and maintain enabled Saved Searches for matching. Watched auctions have separate starting-soon and live choices. These controls preserve your outbid, winner and result settings. Preferences can be saved before launch, but no promotion is dispatched while execution or the separate in-app or email control is held. Operational outbid, winner and result notices have their own release control.
- Starting-soon notices are eligible within 15 minutes of opening. A late public announcement replaces a duplicate reminder. Rescheduling, cancellation, pausing, unpublication, changed permissions or opting out can suppress a queued notice. Promotional email is capped across the dealership at one per rolling hour and three per rolling 24 hours, including staff; repeated checks for the same provider attempt reuse its reservation. Later provider retries recheck the shared limits and can be deferred. Failed or uncertain provider attempts conservatively count toward these caps. Bid and result notices are not capped by this promotion policy. No historical announcements replay when launch is authorized.
- Before submitting an advance maximum, review its exact buyer fee, applicable processing fee and total before tax. The estimate follows your entered maximum; the final buyer fee follows the accepted sale price. If fee evidence changes or is unavailable, refresh and review it again before submitting. A 60-minute auction moves through Upcoming, Active, Pending and Closing. Published Upcoming auctions may accept confidential, binding advance maximums; published Active auctions may accept live bids when execution is enabled. Pending offers are private to the participating buyer and seller, and Closing actions are limited to the dealerships in the frozen qualifying snapshot.
- Publication is separate from execution. Admin follows Approve → Schedule → Authorize Launch. Authorization permits the scheduled opening; it does not start bidding immediately. A unit must still pass canonical readiness. If its opening passes, Admin must explicitly reschedule and authorize a new future opening; buyers never receive a late catch-up auction. Pausing new launches suppresses Upcoming opportunities without ending a running auction or erasing bids. A missed opening is held, never replayed. For this staged release, automated Live Tracker carrier matching, shipment creation and provider dispatch are disabled. After verified payment the unit is released for pickup automatically; the buyer may optionally name its pickup person or transporter under Pickup & release and coordinates pickup directly with the seller. Traditional auction pages continue on their existing routes.
What do I need to do?
- Use Grid for photo-led cards or List for a compact desktop overview; phones keep a readable stacked layout. The large photo and thumbnails are real auction preview photos, not a claim about inspection or featured status. View on Map on a card opens only that auction’s units; the section Map View opens the available section map. Unconfirmed map locations remain listed without a pin. The 60-minute section map shows the same maximum six eligible homepage auctions. Opening a map never places a bid. Home uses the auction gavel icon; View all auctions remains beside the section heading. Each regular card shows its status once. Next auction uses a green indicator with a subtle pulse; reduced-motion preferences keep it still. Live, preview and closing status remain accurate.
- Read each card from top to bottom: unit name and location, photo, price and UTC schedule, then the highlighted opening or stage countdown above View auction. Prices remain $$$ without approved access.
- Choose a stage tab and open a published unit. A 60-minute unit has the same unit page as a regular lot: photos, Unit Details with What RideAuction checked and any RideAuction condition report, RideAI Insights, Seller Disclosures, Sale Light and Questions & Seller Clarifications, marked with a 60-minute auction badge. The right column shows its stage (Scheduled, Live or Closing), the starting or current bid ($$$ without approved buying access), the server-timed countdown, when bidding opens or closes, location and the anonymous seller, and only the actions your dealership may take: an advance maximum while Scheduled, and bidding while Live or, for qualified dealerships, in Closing. Signed out, it asks you to sign in with an eligible dealer account to bid. A link to the unit’s regular lot address opens this same 60-minute page.
What happens next?
Your private maximum, offer amounts and dealer risk information are never shown to competing buyers or sellers. Winning notices open your existing purchase; seller notices open Sales or the unit submission. Other completed-auction notices open the canonical result page, not an expired live bidding page.
