How saved searches and alerts work
What is this?
Save the filters you use on Browse units, run them again any time, and get an in-app alert when a new matching unit is added to a scheduled auction.
How does it work?
- Save criteria: on Browse units, choose your filters (keyword, unit type, make, year, price, province, sale type, reserve, auction type, auction or bidding state), then Save this search. Give it a name or keep the suggested one.
- Run it later: in Buy → Saved searches, Run search opens Browse units with exactly those filters. Sorting and every filter still work as usual.
- Alerts: when a unit that matches is added to a scheduled auction (the auction is scheduled, or the unit is added to one), you get one in-app notification for that unit, with a link to it. Only units anyone can see on RideAuction count — never drafts, units still in review, withdrawn units or your own dealership’s units.
- Alerts are about NEW units only: units already on sale when you save, edit the filters or resume alerts are not announced again. You can still see them by running the search.
- Pause / resume: pause a search to stop its alerts; resume to start again from that moment. Renaming a search changes nothing else.
- Watch List vs saved search: the Watch List follows a specific unit you already found (its schedule, bidding and closing). A saved search describes units you haven’t found yet.
- Your saved searches are private to you within your dealership (up to 25). Traditional saved-search alerts remain in-app. Separately, Notifications → 60-minute auction alerts lets you opt in to matching announcements by Instant or Daily digest; both start Off and remain held while 60-minute execution or promotion is disabled. These choices do not enable text messages.
What do I need to do?
- Open Browse units, set your filters and choose Save this search.
- Manage, run, rename, pause or delete searches in Buy → Saved searches.
- Edit filters: open a search with Edit filters, adjust the filters on Browse units, then Save this search → Update.
What happens next?
When a matching unit is added, it appears in Notifications under “Saved search alerts”.
