Handing over a unit you sold
What is this?
Keep the unit until the buyer shows a valid pickup pass; check its number and code, then record the handover.
How does it work?
- RideAuction issues the buyer’s pickup pass automatically once the buyer has paid in full and the sale is clear. There is no approval step for you or for each unit.
- When someone arrives, open After the Auction → Pickup and handover, enter the number and code from the buyer’s pickup pass and check them. If the buyer named a person, check that person too; if nobody is named, the pass is for the buying dealership. Then record the handover — only once it really happened.
- Do not hand over the unit if the pass is cancelled or expired, the sale is on hold, a dispute is open, the payment was reversed, or a named person is no longer valid. Pickup and handover tells you.
- With RideAuction delivery, the assigned driver’s pickup confirmation records the handover instead. Transport and delivery are separate from the sale.
- RideAuction does not handle title or registration paperwork; exchange it directly with the buying dealer.
- Your RevLane listing is marked Sold automatically when the sale forms, so it cannot be submitted again. At the handover the unit moves to the buyer’s inventory and your listing stays as a read-only Sold record. If the sale is cancelled before the handover, your listing returns to its previous status. Your sale page shows this under Pickup → RevLane inventory.
What do I need to do?
- Keep the unit until a valid pickup pass is shown.
- Check the number and code (and the named person, if any).
- Record the handover once.
What happens next?
The handover ends the unit’s auction hold and moves it to the buyer’s RevLane inventory; you do not need to mark it sold. Your payout follows separately.
