What happens after I win?
What is this?
Your purchase has one page that shows every step — invoice, payment within 48 hours, Bill of Sale, pickup — and the button for the one thing you need to do next.
How does it work?
- When the auction closes, your sale record, purchase invoice and Bill of Sale are created automatically — usually within minutes, even when an auction sells hundreds of units — and you are notified in the bell and by email. You never need to ask for them. If one is not ready yet, its section on the purchase page says why (for example, RideAuction is still checking the sale details); RideAuction resolves it and it then appears by itself.
- Everything for this purchase is on its purchase page: Overview, Invoices, Payment, Bill of Sale, Pickup, Transport (optional), Disputes and History — use the section bar at the top. Every task card, email and notification opens the right section with one button, “Open sale”. Delivery is optional: pickup never waits for it.
- Your purchase page shows one Sale checklist: You won → Invoice ready → Pay within 48 hours → Payment confirmed → Bill of Sale → Ready for pickup → Picked up → Done. Each step says whether it is done, yours to do now, or waiting on someone else, with one button for the current step. The invoice and the Bill of Sale are issued for you, and the pickup pass appears automatically once your payment is confirmed.
- Open the purchase or sale. One current next step names who acts and explains anything that holds it up. Invoice issued, payment confirmed, Bill of Sale issued, ready for pickup / picked up, optional delivery and the seller payout are separate steps. “Seller paid” never means the whole sale is complete.
- Pay the issued invoice within 48 hours using the bank details on it; one invoice can list several units, and the auction view has one payment summary. Then use Tell us you paid on the purchase so RideAuction can match it quickly — your auction payment reference is filled in for you (it is required) and the invoice number is added to the note. The payment counts once RideAuction confirms it arrived.
- If you reported a payment that RideAuction already recorded, do not pay again. RideAuction matches it to the recorded payment or closes your report with a reason.
- Dealers handle ownership, title and provincial registration paperwork directly outside RideAuction. Do not upload, exchange or seek approval for it here. RideAuction generates only the Invoice and Bill of Sale.
- If pickup is on hold, RideAuction is reviewing the sale (the reason is shown). Do not try to clear it by uploading or approving paperwork; an old printed pickup pass never overrides the current checks.
- Pickup: once you have paid in full, your pickup pass (number and code) appears on the purchase automatically. Bring it, or give it to whoever collects the unit; naming that person is optional. RideAuction delivery is an optional extra, separate from the sale.
What do I need to do?
- Open the current next step.
- Pay the issued invoice once, within 48 hours.
- Bring the pickup pass when you collect the unit.
What happens next?
The purchase shows Done once every step that applies is finished, not only payment or pickup.
