Auction payments: one total and one reference per auction
What is this?
When you win several units in one auction, pay them together: one total, one transfer, one payment reference.
How does it work?
- When RideAuction matches your transfer from its bank file, your paid and remaining balances update by themselves, shared across your purchases in that auction, earliest due first. Quote your payment reference on the transfer so it can be matched. If you already reported the payment, it is confirmed, not counted twice.
- Where: After the Auction → Auction payments. There is one row per auction you bought in, with the units won, the total, what RideAuction has recorded as paid, the amount still to pay, the earliest due time and the status (Payment due, Partly paid, Overdue or Paid).
- It appears by itself as soon as your purchase invoices are issued after the auction closes; nobody has to create it. If another invoice is issued later for the same auction, it is added to the same summary under the same reference.
- Open an auction to see every unit with its lot, VIN, seller, price, fees, tax and total, with links to its invoice and its Bill of Sale, and each invoice with its own due time. Overdue invoices are marked.
- Your payment reference (it starts with RA) is the same every time you open the page. Copy it and quote it on one wire or Interac e-Transfer for the whole amount to pay. The payment instructions shown are the ones printed on your invoices.
- Paid amounts change only when RideAuction records your payment; copying the reference or sending the transfer does not mark anything as paid. Seller fees for units you sold are never included here.
- After you send the money, open the auction and use I’ve paid this auction ONCE: the amount (the full balance is filled in; change it if you sent part), the date, wire or e-Transfer, and your bank or Interac transaction reference if you have one. One report covers every unit in the auction; you never report each purchase separately.
- Your report shows Payment reported — awaiting verification until RideAuction checks the bank account. RideAuction then verifies it once and records the amount on your invoices automatically, earliest due first. Each fully paid purchase becomes Paid and its pickup pass follows as usual; you get one notice for the whole payment.
- Paid part of it? Report what you sent. The rest stays due on the later invoices. Report the next transfer after the first one is reviewed (one open report per auction at a time). If RideAuction cannot match a transfer, or finds it is the same money as a payment already recorded, you see the reason and nothing is recorded twice.
- This summary is not a tax invoice: the invoices listed are the tax documents. Card, ACH and online payment are not offered.
What do I need to do?
- Open Auction payments after an auction closes.
- Send one wire or e-Transfer for the amount to pay, quoting your payment reference.
- Use I’ve paid this auction once, with the amount and date you sent.
- Check back: the amount paid updates when RideAuction verifies and records your payment.
What happens next?
RideAuction records your payment against the auction’s invoices; the balance and status update here and on each invoice.

One invoice can list several units you won at the same auction, each shown separately with its own VIN, price, fees and tax.
- Due dates, part payments and overdueA purchase invoice issued under the updated policy is due in full 48 consecutive hours after it is issued, with the exact date and time printed on it.
