How auction sounds work
What is this?
Optional short sounds for the moments that matter to you. Off until you turn them on.
How does it work?
- Sounds play only when you are outbid, when a lot you watch enters its final 2 minutes, and when a lot you watch (or are bidding on) gets more time.
- There is never a sound for every bid, for the activity feed or for the countdown.
- Each moment sounds once, even with the auction, a lot and the map open in several tabs.
- Your browser only allows sound after you tap or click the page. Turning sounds on, or Test sound, does that.
- Every sound also shows on screen (OUTBID, Final 2 minutes, Time extended), so nothing is missed with sound off.
What do I need to do?
- Signed in, in a live auction: tap Auction sounds: Off to turn them on, then Test sound to check your speakers.
- If you see "Your browser blocked auction sounds", tap Test sound once.
What happens next?
Your choice is remembered on this device. Tap Auction sounds: On to turn them off again.
