How to complete the Condition Report

What is this?

Step 4 of Submit Units. Your dealership’s own report on the unit, in sections like RideAuction’s Condition Report.

How does it work?

  • Quick answers: the Operation section (starts / runs / drives) has All Yes and All No buttons. They fill blank Operation answers only. If you pressed the wrong one, press the other to switch the answers it filled, or Undo to clear them back to blank; the buttons are greyed out (not hidden) once nothing is left for them to fill or switch. Your own answers, including Not known, stay unchanged, and no other section has bulk answers. Review and correct each filled answer; required explanations and evidence still apply. Nothing is saved or submitted until you save. All No is not proof that a unit has no defects.
  • Required-answer progress and section indicators reflect current on-page answers, including conditional explanations. They are not a saved receipt. The save bar shows Unsaved changes, Saving, Saved or an actionable error from the real persistence request. Saved missing-item links refresh after saving. Identification and listing-photo requirements belong to their own steps.
  • Gallery photos show the unit to bidders. Condition evidence illustrates a specific seller disclosure. Inspection documents support the declared inspection; seller acceptance is never an independent inspection. Pending or failed imported photos must be resolved or explicitly cancelled in Bulk Upload before submission.
  • Section cards show Complete (green), Needs attention (amber), or Not started (neutral); optional sections say Optional. Red means a checked requirement or invalid value, not an untouched question. Open a section to review or correct answers; Previous Section preserves unsaved entries.
  • Sections, in inspection order: Unit & readings (the unit, odometer / hours), Operation (starts / runs / drives), Mechanical, Exterior & body, Modifications, Missing items & keys, Title / ownership, Inspection, Inspection documents, Condition evidence photos and Final disclosures. Questions adapt to the type of unit.
  • The Condition Report is one scrolling page with eleven numbered cards. The seven submission steps run across the top of the page in one horizontal strip, and the report’s eleven sections follow in a second strip just below it; on a narrow screen, scroll either strip sideways. After you answer a question, the report moves to the next unanswered question in the order shown on the page, and this is on by default (untick “Move to the next unanswered question after an answer” to turn it off; your choice is remembered in this browser). It skips questions you have already answered, goes straight to an explanation your answer makes necessary, never goes to a question your answer hides, and never jumps back to an earlier question. Typing in a notes box never moves you. After the last question it takes you to Save & continue so you can review and submit. Previous question and Next question work the same way from the question you last used, and you can still click any earlier answer to change it. Conditional inputs stay mounted so typed notes remain. Respectful reduced-motion and keyboard focus apply.
  • Every question starts unanswered (“Select an answer”) — nothing is filled in for you. Questions marked Required must be answered. Not Known is available only for questions that permit it; Yes/No issue questions and title / registration documents do not gain an unknown option. Follow-up explanations appear when applicable; changing an answer temporarily keeps your typed notes.
  • If an inspection was done (by your dealership or a third party) give who, when and upload the report. It is shown as “Provided by the dealer” — RideAuction’s own inspection is a separate report.
  • Save Draft records the whole report while incomplete. Save & continue records it and checks all applicable report requirements before moving to Listing photos; otherwise it focuses the required answer. A save failure retains entered text and enables retry. Final submission separately requires both identification photos, listing photos, auction preferences, attestation and seller certifications.
  • Answers are saved only when you save (there is no autosave). The bar at the bottom shows “Unsaved changes”, “Saving…” and “Saved”, and your browser warns you before you leave with unsaved answers.

What do I need to do?

  • Use the horizontal step strip and the report-section strip below it to move around (scroll them sideways on a phone). All eleven sections stay on one scrolling page. Answer in order, or use Previous question and Next question to move between questions, and Save Draft to retain unfinished work. Completion indicators describe answers; the save bar describes persistence.
  • Answer each required question truthfully.
  • Add any inspection report and close-up photos of what you disclosed.
  • Choose “Save & continue”.

What happens next?

Step 5: Listing photos.
