How Sold Results & Market Insights work

What is this?

Sold results (Buy → Sold results) lists every RideAuction result you may see — Sold, Reserve not met and No bids — across all past auctions, with a sold-price summary of the units that match your filters.

How does it work?

  • What it contains: each lot that went through a RideAuction sale, with its photo, lot number, year, make, model, unit type, province, auction, close date, result, sale type, sold price and bid count. Results never expire (the live lot page is available for 30 days; the result stays here).
  • Where the data comes from: RideAuction’s own recorded results — the result recorded when each lot closed, and the sale that followed. A sale that was cancelled is not shown as sold and is not counted. Test auctions are never included.
  • Sold means the unit sold on RideAuction: at auction, by Buy Now, or by a post-auction offer the seller accepted. The sale type says which, and the price is the sale price.
  • Reserve not met means bidding ended below the seller’s private reserve. The highest bid is shown as “Highest bid — reserve not met” — it is not a sold price. No bids means the lot closed without a bid.
  • Filters and sorting run on the server over the whole history: keyword, result, sale type, unit type, make, model, year, province, sold price and close dates. A sold-price range shows sold units only. Price sorts list results without a sold price after every priced one.
  • “Based on RideAuction recorded sales”: the summary counts SOLD units only, with your current filters — the number of sales, the lowest, average, median (the middle sale) and highest sold price, and the dates they span. Reserve-not-met bids, unsold lots, asking prices and Ride marketplace listings are never included.
  • Thin data: with one sale you see that single sale, not a range (“Very limited RideAuction sales history”). With fewer than 5 sales the summary says “Limited RideAuction sales history”. A few sales may not represent the wider market — condition, season, location and timing all change prices.
  • Comparable sales: a unit’s page (and each past result) shows “Comparable RideAuction sales” — the same summary for units of the same type, make and model within two model years. “View comparable sales” opens this page with exactly those filters and says “Comparable to …” at the top. How units are matched is explained in “How Comparable RideAuction Sales work”.
  • Not an appraisal: these are RideAuction results only. They are not a market value, a valuation, a guarantee or a Canadian market average — RideAuction has no market-wide data yet.
  • Privacy: results never show who bought, who bid, the seller’s name, the reserve amount, Max Bids, addresses, documents or notes. The seller appears as an anonymous RideAuction dealer.

What do I need to do?

  • Open Buy → Sold results, set filters (for example make, model and years) and choose Apply filters.
  • From a unit on sale (or a past result), read its “Comparable RideAuction sales” card and choose “View comparable sales” to see each comparable sale; “Clear comparison” returns to all results.
  • Open a result for its photos, the unit details and the seller’s disclosures as they were at the auction.

What happens next?

Use the results as one input when you decide what to bid or what reserve to set — together with the unit’s condition, disclosures and photos.
